I was introduced to the Bowspring Method, a functional movement training system, in November of 2015 by a Physical Therapist. Since then, I have studied with creators, Desi Springer and John Friend, and have begun to incorporate this dynamic postural movement method into my own studies, practice, and teaching. I am finding a new depth of movement, posture, lightness, and strength from the Bowspring alignment.
The Bowspring is a new paradigm in movement methodology - and it's not easy. The postures are yoga inspired, however very different from modern postural yoga. Bowspring is dynamic, curvy, primal, playful, and powerful! The method is centered around one template, a universal posture based on the natural healthy curvatures of the spine. Once the template is attained, it is sustained, and moved from form to form in various planes. Bowspring provides a Level I syllabus of 50 plus postures, 10 key areas of the body, and elemental forms of hands, feet, legs, and arms. Visit www.globalbowspring.com to learn more! .
